Flight. At 1325, reported two life rafts bearing 258d, 515 miles (from Oahu?) in rough seas. It was determined that the rescue ship would arrive too late, so permission was granted to make an open-sea landing. Both landing and take-off were successful and the crew of B-17 BuNo 2402 was returned to Pearl Harbor. |
